About this Event:
On Sunday, December 4, 2022 the Mackinaw City Police, Mackinaw City Public Schools, along with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will host a one day in person class for snowmobile safety education.
The class is free of charge, but you must register for the class ahead of time as space is limited, so please commit early. The class offers in person instruction to train knowledgeable, safe, and responsible snowmobilers. Any snowmobile operator under 17 is required to pass an approved snowmobile safety course to operate without adult supervision or to cross a roadway. There is not a minimum age for enrollment, but attendees will need to read, comprehend, and successfully pass a written test to receive a safety certificate.
All children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class. The class will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm with a break for lunch. You will need to bring your own lunch, pen/pencil, and outdoor clothing. Portions of the class will be outdoors - so dress appropriately.
