About this Event:
This FREE Hunter Safety class is the best in the state! You will enjoy the "round robin" experience of traveling from class to class with 8 certified instructors to give you much "hands-on" instruction. This is a field day for both the home study and online courses. For home study, pick up your workbook no sooner than Oct. 11th and no later than Sat. Oct. 30th at the Genesee County Parks Administrative Office, located at 5045 Stanley Road, Flint, Mi 48506 during business hours, 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, (810)736-7100. Please do not call them about the class details or registration. They are merely allowing us use of their office lobby for the student manual pick up and use of their warehouse for class location. As with any Hunter Safety class, you must answer the chapter review quiz at the back of the book and bring it with you to class. For the online students, bring your certificate to class as proof of completion. It's a one day, 6 1/2 hours of class time with a half hour lunch. Bring your sack lunch as there aren't any restaurants nearby. Be aware of the weather forecast and dress appropriately because, rain or shine, most of the classes are outdoors, due to COVID. Bring your own face mask for the few indoor activities. Bring your own sharpened pencil. If you're under 12 years old you must be accompanied by a person 18 years old or older. You will be rotating to 12 different classes and you'll meet a Conservation Officer! You'll be able to use the laser shot, shotgun hunting wildlife simulator! We'll even have candy and prizes! It'll be so much fun...the only thing missing is a gun raffle!
