About this Event:
This FREE Hunter Safety class is likely the best in the State! You will enjoy the "round robin" experience of traveling from class to class with at least 7 certified instructors to give you much "hands on" instruction. This is a Field Day for both the home study and online courses, of which one must be taken prior. For the home study option, pick up your free workbook no later than Oct. 30th in the lobby of the Genesee County Parks Administrative Office, located at 5045 Stanley Road, Flint, MI 48506 during business hours of 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Please do not call the Parks Administration Office about the class details or registration. They are merely and generously allowing us the use of their office lobby for the student manual pick up and use of their warehouse for the class location (no need to talk to their staff; the box of manuals is in the lobby). You must answer the chapter review quiz at the back of the manual and bring it with you to our class. For those who choose to be online students, you must pay, online, a fee to receive the course and get a completion certificate. Print the certificate and bring it with you to our class. Our Hunter Safety class is a one day, 7 hours of class time with a half hour lunch. Bring your sack lunch. You are forbidden to leave the premises, but you may have someone bring you a hot lunch to the Warehouse (they can follow the signs from the parking lot-like you did!) There aren't any restaurants nearby. Be aware of the weather forecast and dress appropriately because, rain or shine, most of the classes are outdoors. If you're under 12 years old you must be accompanied by a person 18 years old or older. Your accompanying adult does not need to register if they are not taking the class for a certificate. You will be rotating to 12 different classes and you'll meet a Conservation Officer! You'll be able to use the laser shot (a shotgun hunting wildlife simulator)! We'll even have candy and gifts! It'll be so much fun...the only thing missing is a gun raffle! If the class and waitlist are full, we may allow walk-ins if you have your online course certificate or your student manual test questions answered.
