About this Event:
Snowmobile Safety
Snowmobile Safety is offered for persons age 11 and older and is taught by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department / Marine Division.
The main purpose of the snowmobile safety education course is to educate and develop safe, knowledgeable and responsible snowmobile owners and operators. Topics covered include description of machine controls, safety and operating procedures, loading and towing procedures, understanding trail operation, laws and regulations, and environmental concerns and reporting responsibility.
Snowmobile Safety Certificates are required for children age 12-16 who wish to operate a snowmobile in Michigan.

- Written test (75% or better to pass)
- No minimum age requirement; however, students under 10 years of age shall be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or other adult approved by parent or legal guardian.
