About this Event:
About this event: In order to purchase a hunting license in Michigan, an individual born on or after January 1, 1960, is required to successfully complete an approved hunter education course. ----------------------------------------------------------
The main purpose of this hunter education course/field day is to provide an alternative to the traditional course. This one day course is the same as the traditional hunter education course; however, some of the classroom portion is completed by online training. Field day only. ------------------------------------------------------
The field day participants must present a copy of their certificate of completion (voucher) of the online course at the start, check in, of the field day. The online course is fee based and can be taken at https://www.hunter-ed.com/michigan/. Students will need to bring an ID, pen and pencil to class. Children without ID must have parent or guardian show ID. -------------------------------------------------------------------------About the Field Day: Instructors will teach the Hunters education material from a combination of the DNR "Todays Hunters in Michigan -a guide to hunting responsibility and safety" DNR approved training videos and in-person instruction from MI DNR certified volunteer instructors. In person field day participants must achieve a written test (80% or better to pass) and practice assessment (pass/fail).
Event Location is at Big Rock Community Church, 3140 N 3rd Street, Kalamazoo MI 49009
Class time: 9:00 - 4:00 pm.
