About this Event:
-This is a Michigan DNR approved course. Students will be permitted to purchase a hunting license upon course completion. -Please bring a lunch, snacks, pencil or pen, bug spray and sunscreen on day three. (Day 3 times are 9 am EST- 2 pm EST) Note posted times are EST. Students should be old enough to read at a 3rd-4th grade level or higher.
-Class times are 8:30 am - 12:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday; 8:00 am- 1 pm on Wednesday (CENTRAL TIME). Do not bring a firearm to class as .22 caliber rifles and ammo will be provided during field day on Wednesday.
-IMPORTANT: if you have earned an online certificate for the written portion of the class, you may attend for only the field day on Wednesday. BE SURE TO BRING CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.

The main purpose of the hunter education course is to train safe, legal and responsible hunters. Topics covered include understanding wildlife management, wildlife identification, ethics, laws and regulations, and firearms safety and handling.

To solve this predicament, we created a process called "Linking Accounts". By creating an account of your own and "linking" the student to that account, you now have the option to sign them up for a class with your own email. In order to purchase a hunting license in Michigan, an individual born on or after January 1, 1960, is required to successfully complete an approved hunter education course. Michigan’s traditional hunter education course is taught by a dedicated core of certified volunteer instructors and Michigan conservation officers.

About the Class:
- In person, traditional classroom setting including hands on training.
- Minimum of 10 hours over a minimum of two days.
- Written test (80% or better to pass) and practice assessment (pass/fail).
- Maximum $10 fee.
- No minimum age requirement; however, students under 10 years of age shall be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or other adult approved by parent or legal guardian.
