About this Event:
This Boating Safety Course is taught by qualified members of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and fulfills the Michigan requirements for boaters born after June 30, 1996 to operate a motorized vessel. The course also meets the requirements for youth 12-15 years old who want to operate a boat powered by a motor of more than 6 HP, and for most PWC operators. A Boating Safety Certificate is issued after passing an exam during the course. Topics include general boating and water safety, navigation, causes and prevention of mishaps, operation and fueling, environmental concerns and reporting.
